Manchester United is in full control of their destiny when they host dark horse outfit Granada at Old Trafford, but still have to put in a professional performance at home on the back of multiple first-choice players being unavailable for duty on Thursday evening. Against a stronger XI, Granada still managed to generate some chances in the first-leg, and though Diego Martínez has selection headaches of his own, Ole Gunnar Solskjær must push for focus. United should be progressing come full-time, but another close result could be on the cards. Under normal circumstances, I would probably back United to keep another clean sheet in a similar fashion to the first-leg, but some missing pieces at the back could shoot themselves in their own foot on that front.

Still, it’s expected that United will go through and likely grab a win on their home patch despite the existing questions. Granada has shown themselves to be tricky opposition away from home in the knockout stages and have scored away from home against both Napoli and Molde, and could potentially exploit a few weaknesses.

Manchester United will hope to ease into the semi-finals of the Europa League when they welcome Granada to Old Trafford for the second leg of their quarter-final tie on Thursday night. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have one foot firmly in the final four after a 2-0 first leg win in Spain, during which Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes struck either side of the half-time whistle. After dropping down from the Champions League in somewhat disastrous fashion, the Red Devils are certainly regarded as the favourites to go all the way in this season’s Europa League, and fans are licking their lips at the prospect of a potential all-English final between Man United and Arsenal on May 26.
