Pep Guardiola is expected to welcome back two more Euro 2020 stars when Manchester City continue their pre-season schedule against Blackpool tonight (6pm kick off).

After clocking up summer victories against Preston North End and Barnsley, another Championship test awaits in the shape of the newly-promoted Tangerines.

First-team regulars Nathan Ake and Riyad Mahrez were both on target against the Yorkshire opponents last weekend. That came during a 4-0 verdict after Samuel Edozie and Ben Knight had set the tone with early goals.

As attentions turn to facing Blackpool, City boss Guardiola could make as many as four changes to his starting 11, with Ilkay Gundogan and Oleksandr Zinchenko set to step up the pace having been included on the bench at the weekend.

The game will also potentially provide some of our returning international stars, such as Kevin De Bruyne, Rodrigo and Bernardo Silva, with the opportunity to gain important minutes back out on the pitch.

Those with a CITY+ subscription can enjoy every minute of our clash under the Academy Stadium lights, with sign-up costing just £1.99 per month and granting access to full-match replays of all Men’s and Women’s matches.

CITY+ also provides selected live broadcasts of Women’s, Elite Development Squad and Under-18s fixtures as well as exclusive, original documentaries such as Kevin De Bruyne: Made in Belgium and Shaun Wright-Phillips: City’s Homegrown Hero.

The Blues made it two wins from two with a convincing performance over Barnsley on Saturday afternoon. Goals from Riyad Mahrez, Samuel Edozie, Ben Knight and Nathan Aké easily swatted the Seasiders aside.

Today’s opposition were recently promoted back to the Championship – beating Lincoln City in the play-off final. Neil Critchley – former Liverpool U23’s coach – has enjoyed a hugely successful period as Blackpool’s manager.

Manchester City welcomed back Ilkay Gundogan and Oleksandr Zinchenko to the fray on Saturday, and there’s a fair few that have also made their returns in the meantime.
