K-League vs Tottenham – LIVE Reddit Soccer 13/07/2022
It’s here! After two months with no football, Tottenham Hotspur are back in action today at the Seoul Olympic Stadium in South Korea. Okay, so it’s only a friendly match against a team of all-stars from the K-League, but it’s still the first chance Spurs fans have to get a look at Tottenham’s new signings under Antonio Conte. For those not aware, Tottenham are on their international preseason tour to South Korea, home to Son Heung-Min. This is their first friendly match, and they’ll take on Erik Lamela and Sevilla on Saturday.
Antonio Conte has said that he plans to give everyone 45 minutes of match time in this opening friendly. Maybe that means swapping out the entire team at halftime, or maybe Conte will be more creative, who knows. We know that Ivan Perisic will not play tomorrow as he works on his fitness and that Dejan Kulusevski is a doubt after leaving training on Monday with a slight injury. But maybe we’ll see Troy Parrott, or Pape Matar Sarr, or some of the other fringe players who are hoping to impress! Don’t take too much from this match, it’s about fitness and not about competition. But in all other respects. HOORAY FOOTBALL IS BACK!
If you want to watch this match, you have two options. If you’re in the United States and have cable you can watch it (somehow) on CBS Sports Network. Everywhere else, it’s streamed on SpursPLAY, Tottenham’s new premium streaming service.
Antonio Conte’s team have been training hard in Korea this week and will be looking to kick off the first game of their tour with a win. The Italian manager named his 28-man squad the other week which includes four of the new boys in Yves Bissouma, Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic and Richarlison – who will all be keen to impress at their new club.
The squad also includes usual suspects like Harry Kane, Hugo Lloris and Heung Min-Son who was welcomed like a god as Spurs are playing in his homeland.
Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur officially begin their pre-season friendly schedule on Wednesday with their first friendly match against Team K League at the Seoul World Cup Stadium. The Spurs will face Sevilla, Rangers and AS Roma across July, in preparation for the 2022-23 season. Meanwhile, Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte heads into the game after putting the team through some brutal training sessions before the match
The 2021-22 golden boot winner Heung-min Son welcomed his teammates at the airport on Sunday, while the team had their first training session later in the day. Son was seen collapsing to the floor after Conte’s intense practice session, which also led to Harry Kane throwing up. They will now face the K-League XI, which comprises a good chunk of South Korea national team payers alongside a few Netherlands and Brazil internationals.
Tottenham’s recent signing Clement Lenglet didn’t make it in time to obtain his visa and travel with the team to Seoul. However, they still have the presence of Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic and Pape Sarr. Joe Rodon will miss the match due to illness, while Sergio Reguilon, Harry Winks, Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso didn’t travel with the team. Kane, Son and Hugo Lloris will star for Tottenham in the match, alongside other top players.
On the other hand, South Korea’s Jo Hyeon-woo is most likely to be the goalkeeper for K-League XI. Former Barcelona youngster Lee Seung-woo, two-time K-League Best XI member Cesinha, Portugal’s Gerso Fernandes and South Africa’s Lars Veldwijk also feature for the home team. The All-Star is being managed by Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors manager Kin Sang-sik.
